Google has made it official. They are almost ready to roll out the new phone, through a collaboration with T-Mobile, HTC, Qualcomm, and Motorola.

But it’s not what alot of people were expecting.  Google won’t be selling a phone, rather supplying the operating system and open source code to be used on many different phones.  Brilliant game plan in my opinion.  Why would Google want to lock themselves into a physical product with low margins?  Creating the content to be used across all platforms is the way to go.  Who knows, maybe even the iPhone will run Google’s mobile software someday?
